Our Story
Locally Owned & Family Operated Since 1995
Upright Fencing Hawaii LLC was built from the ground up by our founder, Lindy Risner. He started the business in 1995 in Ewa Beach as Kennels of Hawaii, and through hard work, hands-on craftsmanship, and a commitment to doing things the right way, grew it into full-service fence installation and custom specialty gates -- built entirely on customer referrals.
Upright Fencing is still locally owned and family operated, and Lindy is still here every day. In 2017 we moved into our shop on Kauhi Street in Kapolei, where we operate today. For over 30 years, we have installed thousands of fences island-wide on Oahu, from new residential subdivisions to commercial security perimeters, schools, and public facilities. Our growth has been steady and organic because we let our work speak for itself.
Today we partner with general contractors, developers, homebuilders, and property managers on new construction and large-scale fencing projects. We have the crews, equipment, and material on hand to keep your project on schedule, and we understand the submittals, phasing, and site coordination that commercial work demands. And we still bring the same care to every homeowner, from new privacy fences to custom driveway gates.
We also sell our own vinyl fence material. From our Kapolei shop, we handle every step in-house -- from vinyl routing and gate fabrication to final installation. That means reliable supply, fewer delays, tighter quality control, and a finished product we stand behind.

Our Own Vinyl Material
We supply and fabricate our own vinyl fence material, routing every panel, post, and rail in our Kapolei shop. Contractors and builders can purchase material directly from us.
Custom Gate Fabrication
Swing gates, slide gates, and automated operators -- every gate is designed and welded to spec. No off-the-shelf compromises.
Full Welding Shop
Our on-site welding capabilities mean we can build custom brackets, frames, and structural components for any fencing or gate project.
Island-Wide Service
From the North Shore to Hawaii Kai, we install island-wide. Our crews know the terrain, the soil conditions, and the local building codes, and we scale from residential properties to large commercial and new-construction projects.
